Terms of Use

  • Edit as much as you like, but don't remove any credits present. They are the small teal © symbols at the bottom of every main section of the carrd. Leave them alone. You may change the color to match your custom palette for your carrd but do not make them invisible or hard to see.

  • Don't claim as your own work OR use this template as a base for a different template OR use it for any commissions, paid or not. If you use this template, I don't care how much you edit it, go wild, but the credit has to stay intact and you cannot claim it as your own.

  • Do not use to promote illegal, harmful, or hateful content. No burn books, no hate blogs, no callout blogs, nothing of the sort.

HOW TO CONVERT TO SINGLE MUSE

  • Delete everything below  #muses  and BEFORE #connections.  ( Do not delete #connections itself. )  Make sure you highlight the containers to delete instead of each individual element as that will save lots of time by deleting things in bulk.

  • On the link bar on the main page, at the top of your guidelines page, and at the top of your connections page, change the link from #muses to #muse1 , or alternatively to whatever you rename the section with the muse biography. Change the link title to whatever you prefer, like stats / bio / info / about / etc. Do the same for anywhere else that links to the muses page you have just deleted.

  • In the #muse1 section  ( or whatever you renamed the muse info section to ),  change the return link in the top bar from #muses to #. This way the return will go back to the main page on the carrd.

  • NOTE :  If you rename the scroll point as well  ( the yellow code line directly beneath #muse1 itself ),  you need to change the link of the back to top button to match the new name of the scroll point or else the button will not work.

HOW TO ADD MORE MUSE BIOS

  • At the bottom of the previous muse info section (should be the very bottom of the carrd unless you add other things), add a new #sectionbreak and name it what you wish. If you don't know how to do that, you can just copy the #muse1 break but you MUST rename it. Every section must have an individual name to link to, even if you just go with something simple like #muse1 #muse2 #muse3, so on and so forth.

  • Directly below that, add a scroll point  ( the yellow line ),  or as mentioned above, copy the previous scroll point and rename it if you don't know how to set one up.

  • Copy everything between  #muse1  and your new section and drag everything into place. Make sure you highlight the individual containers to delete instead of each individual element as that will save lots of time by copying and moving things all at once. If done right, you should only have to copy / move 4 things for each new muse you add, unless you also need to copy the section breaks.

  • Go to the back to top button at the bottom of your new muse info section and rename the link to whatever you named the scroll point, NOT the section itself.  ( The yellow, NOT the blue. )

  • Link to the new muse bio wherever you wish. If you link within the carrd itself, such as linking to it from the muse roster here, then you can just link with #whateveryounamedthis, but if you link outside of the carrd (i.e. from tumblr) then you need to put the full link. So your link would be ( https://yourcarrdname.carrd.co/#whateveryounamedthis ).

HOW TO ADD MORE CATEGORIES

  • Make a new yellow scroll point and place it between the last category and the box with the "back to top" button, or wherever you want your new category to go if not at the bottom. Give the scroll point a unique name.

  • Copy a box with the category title and a box with the section of muses in it and move them below the new scroll point you have just made.

  • Click the category buttons at the top, add a new button, and link it to the scroll point you just made. You can rearrange the buttons if the order of the categories has changed.

It is sometimes an appropriate response to reality to go insane.

Inconceivable, she told herself in a low, cracked voice. It was only a one-night stand, in the spur of the moment, something that would mean nothing to either of them once the sun would've been born again. Yet, the evidence was there, standing in the path of her piercing blue eyes. A belly as round as the moon itself. Inside, a kick startled her, causing her to place a hesitant hand against her own skin. She wasn't supposed to get pregnant now, let alone while still in training to become the next chief of the tribe. She was too young, too inexperienced, too impulsive to assume such a burden. And that was without mentioning, of course, that the father was from a Sun tribe, which was unlikely to help the situation she'd gotten herself into.Yet again, what could she have done now ? It was too late, since she had decided to ignore all the signs placed under her nose. So, she waited.Under the scrutinizing gaze of the elders, she waited until the proof of her sin came to take its first breath of air in this merciless world. The delivery itself hadn't gone smoothly and had almost cost the life of both mother and child but, all in all, it wasn't the worst part. When the kitten was placed against her chest, tight from the breath she'd been holding, she knew at first glance that it would be impossible for her to maintain the lies she'd used to conceal the truth.How could she have proceeded with them when the newborn was so different ? While she herself had everything from the Keeper of the Moon, that child was the most flagrant opposite. She was clearly one of the Sun, head to toes. Her eyes were wonders, as if an emerald and a sapphire had mingled around a vertical feline pupil, and her ears were so tiny, her cute tail so fluffy, that Rhel couldn't help gently stroking the fierce red fur that shined even to the slightest of lights. Even the kitten's soft skin contrasted with her own diaphanous skin, matte as if the sun had already kissed it, even tho she was born in the darkest hours of the night.There was no room for doubt. She was the spitting image of her father, and this realization squeezed the Miqo'te's heart a little tighter.To atone for her mistake, Rhel Neirta reluctantly agreed to be stripped of her future title – not that she had any say in the matter. It was also decided that she would devote herself entirely to turning her walking failure into a glorious clan warrior – which also meant that she had no right whatsoever to act as a mother for her child.That said, it wasn't in the realm of the possibility to forget everything so easily. To mark the facts with acts, when the kitten was branded with the clan marks, she received not only those of the Moon, but also those of the Sun, rendering her innocent face and her barely formed body clearly distinct from everyone else in the village. As for the outsiders, whoever that would come across her would know the truth at one single glance.In spite of everything, and probably driven by guilt, Rhel attempted to name the little thing after her, in the clan way, to no avail. The elders were uncompromising – this shame would bear the name that belonged to her, that of her sinful progenitor – L'yphtys Nhal she would be. Yet, in the privacy of their home, her mother affectionately called her Yphtys, deliberately omitting the fact that she belonged to the Viper clan.Had she had the choice back then, maybe Rhel would've been less harsh with the kitten once outside the protective walls – but that's another story, a stillborn past.A few years passed almost without a hitch, other than the bird names the other kittens called the little one, and she began martial training as soon as she was able to stand on her own two feet. Truth be told, she wasn't very good at anything of the sort, but what was there to ask of such a young sprout ?Nevertheless, the day came where she was summoned by the elders council for, it seemed at the time, no reason at all. There, three apples high and barely four years old L'yphtys learned that her mother was with child again. When she heard the news, the redhead was overjoyed, the very idea of becoming a big sister enchanting her more than anything else. She could already see herself looking after her youngest, playing with his little paws, helping her mother as best as she could.But... why was it the council that informed her of such an important change in her family dynamic ? Unfortunately, she learned the reason the hard way.Since the father was a respected clan warrior, at least for a male, Rhel had regained the clan's trust and was once again on the march to take over the reins, this time with a worthy offspring to follow in her footsteps.Now, it was time to get rid of the leftovers – L'yphtys herself. But was it enough to throw away the dirt with the marks as proof that she was indeed partially belonging to them ? No. Of course not. The kitten was to become a living testimony that forgiveness was hanging only by a thread and that she would never again have a place in the village she called home so sweetly.The scene was nothing short of horrifying – in fact, even for those who carried out the punishment, the child's loud cries and screams as she was branded with a hot iron and inked in white, enhancing the worst curses to which her clan were attached, were a torment to watch and hear.After that, her own mother took her deep into the woods, where the light would never again touch her coppery hair. This was what was required of her. It was her duty. But does it hurt her ? This was the question reflected in the child's frightened eyes as she gazed into her mother's ice-cold eyes for the last time.The answer to that would never be given, since Rhel left her there without even looking back at her frail figure.The truth, however, is that the Keeper clenched her hands on her round belly, trying with this gesture to give herself the courage to leave, to absolutely not turn around and run away with the one who came from her own flesh.In a sad way, it was a success.

Chapter II
This we know : all things are connected, even us

In this situation, you'd think a little girl would never last a day alone in the middle of the Black Shroud, prey to the wild and the shadows. Depressing as it was, this was probably the plan all along. But that was without taking into account the survival instinct and lack of fear that only the youngest can pull off. Was it because she was a tomboy since forever ? Was it thanks to the way she was raised to become a fierce fighter ? Or perhaps was she unaware of the real danger of the woods ?The answer is : none of the above.L'yphtys had something hidden inside her. Something special. Almost like an intuition, a hunch every time she got close to something bad for her. We could write a page-long essay on what triggered this thing, but the truth was just as simple as this : her abandonment had unlocked a door in her hitherto locked mind.That's how, and when, the visions came to life. At first, it was almost nothing. A few shreds of the life she'd left behind. Flashbacks, perhaps ? But, even though she was too young to grasp every little thing as a permanent memory, the wild kitten had no recollection at all of the people and scenes of the everyday life she silently witnessed in fits and starts. Every other day, she suddenly found herself in the skin of a wolf on the prowl or in that of a rabbit cleverly hidden in the bushes.She started to realize that something was really weird when she witnessed, at almost five and first-hand, the delivery of her half-sister. It was just like she was there, looking right at her mother pushing with all her might so that the baby could finally see the light of day. Needless to say that, since she already knew of her existence, the arrival of Sotchi was neither a surprise nor a shock to her.However, she felt a bit sad, for tons of reasons.First of all, not that she knew a lot on the subject, the birth had seemed quite easy and peaceful, the only signs of effort being the sweat on their mother's forehead and her teeth clenched in a silent growl coming with each push – quite the opposite of the hell that Rhel had been through to give birth to L'yphtys. Far from that dreary night, Sotchi had the luck to open her eyes to a radiant summer sun, and she was everything the big sister she would never know wasn't : an adorable, fair-skinned doll with big eyes the color of a cloudless sky, her hair coming off as a pure golden liquid waving to light up Etheirys, all conclued by a tiny tail and ears far too big compared to her cute little face.It was only when she caught on to the fact that she was admiring, almost worshiping already, the ray of sunshine that was her sister, that she understood one of the other reasons that saddened her.They would never meet.Even so, she had never wanted anything more than to be able to touch the baby whose cries she was hearing so clearly, almost to the point of being able to distinguish them from those of any other baby. Will Sotchi even know I exist ? the wild Miqo'te wondered. The answer to this question came to her under the form of their mother's voice.❝ My sweet Sotchi... you truly are the light of my life. It's as if I was destined to meet you, and you alone.❞Hearing this cherished voice full of adoration iterate these words made her heart sank within her – a few more minutes of this ordeal for the redhead ended with an image of a mother thankful to hold for the first time her only child. That loving picture alone would undoubtedly remain etched on her retina for a time known only to the Gods.So she remained in the midst of nature's hostility, her days sprinkled here and there with visions of others' lives. To tell the truth, what was once her refuge became bittersweet entertainment, most likely because it was so difficult to witness parts of Rhel and Sotchi's daily life, those being recurring targets of her growing power.But life being its usual ruthless self, nothing lasts forever, especially not the good things like the so-called tranquility in which the odd kitten breathed.Discovering your father's life for the first time after all this, when you never had a clue about him until then, is already something difficult. Adding on top of that the birth of your second sibling when you were on the verge of accepting the fact that you'll be alone all your life is what's closer to a challenge at that tender age. The very existence of L'nhal and L'asânkh was... too much for L'yphtys.Though the sight of it all had been short-lived and nothing should've put a flea in her ear on the fact that what she had witnessed was directly related to her, the child knew it right away. How could she not know at a glance ? That man, in the corner of the tent, nonchalantly leaning against a pile of crates from which luxurious fabrics protruded, could've been her spitting image if he had not been an adult male. It wasn't in his muscular body, nor in his angular face. His eyes didn't look like hers either, golden as they were. His dark skin dotted with freckles on the other hand, and his tricolor fur marked by a fire kissed color, despite some salt and pepper strands here and there, made the realization so simple that tears instantly appeared in the corners of her heterochromic eyes.Hidden in the thick-leafed branches of a tree, almost at the height of the canopy itself, the six years old started to cry, and cry, and cry... The tears, which she tried to erase with the palms of her trembling hands, were dripping down her cheeks, until... there was nothing left inside her, except her strange power. That thing suddenly took possession of her frail body and broken mind, wiping out all in it's way to only leave behind a primal howl to which all the animals around responded, rushing from all directions to reach the source of the phenomenom. Weirdly enough, amongst the hostile horde, a single man was standing, all but afraid, his eyes carefully searching the dome of greenery.The moment their eyes met, she knew she wasn't alone... and fainted, falling from her secure heights.Later, much later, when she finally came to her senses, she was lying in a comfy bed, in the coziest room she'd ever seen, snug and warm next to a comfortably crackling fireplace. She was in the process of sniffing the faint scent of vanilla on the thick blanket when she saw him. The man of the forest. He was at her side, soundly asleep in a rocking chair that wasn't moving, indicating without a doubt that some time had passed since he began watching over her.There, she finally had time to observe him to her heart's content.Clearly, the individual was what could be described as intimidating from the get go. Even in a seated position, his figure was impressive, and the breadth of his shoulders did not contradict this first impression. He was strong looking, even though one could guess, under his animal skin clothes, the belly of someone around his fifty-years-old who didn't really care about his appearance. It was near impossible to call him handsome, more so since his face looked somehow dirty, but he had this strange charm, enhanced by the wrinkles on his forehead and the corner of his eyes, that only some men possess when they age. Besides, even in a deep sleep, she could tell by the way his tanned skin and brows were frowning that he always looked worried.Speaking of his face, L'yphtys was now almost on all fours while leaning forward on the edges of the bed to get a better look at him. He had a broad, flat nose, a mouth with thin, pursed lips, and dark-rimmed eyes set deep into his skull.It was at this precise moment that he opened his eyes, their hazel color diving directly into the kid's.He didn't seem surprised, even though the kitten, for her part, wobbled on her limbs and fell straight on her buttocks, with her ears pulled back while her bottlebrush tail was held down in a reverse curve, clear indicators of her fear.❝ Finally 'wake, uh ? What 'bout diggin' in ?❞His name was Hayk Ashkhaen, and he was an impressive Highlander, a hermit living not far from the large city of Gridania, to which he regularly went to give the inhabitants the benefit of his gifts as a healer. They never talked about what had happened the day he found her - not because they didn't wanted to, but because there was no need for words between them. They were inhabited by the same force, something she had learned over the years to recognize as the Echo, the blessing of Hydaelyn.

Chapter III
Live to learn, and you will really learn to live

At first, everything was incredibly difficult. She didn't knew how to act with people anymore, she refused to speak, only expressing herself through grunts, groans and squeaks. She was always hiding behind Hayk legs - or more like, leg, since their size difference. However, far from being closed to everything or empty-headed, she was learning every single thing she came across. Soon, she became a helpful hand to her adoptive father, and the Gridanians started to see her differently. It was then that she finally started to talk again, and only then that Hayk finally gave her a new name.Tokki Ashkhaen.Finally feeling accepted, loved, considered as a person and not as a cross to bear, Tokki mingled more and more with the others. Well, as one might expect from her past, she was particularly shy and discreet, but that didn't stop people from liking her, far from it. Growing up, she became a very well-known figure of the town, to the point where even strangers could hear about her and her natural gifts.Needless to say, this was precisely why the Scions themselves sent Papalymo to check out the rumors circulating about the teenager. Oh, what a sight it was to behold. Hayk growling like a rabid bear at a tiny Lalafell, trying to keep him as far as possible of his adoptive daughter. Still and all, as an Echo bearer himself, Hayk finally had no choice but to agree to the meeting.It's ironic considering everything she went through before, but Tokki wasn't the least bit worried at the sight of the Seventh Dawn member. Most probably because he was so tiny - she just started to hug him like if he was a teddy bear, which was quite a shock and almost a shame to the Lalafell's eyes. Well, at least, it was an easy encounter that clearly helped open the conversation about her abilities. Once these were verified and proven, it was time for a background check. That part was challenging, for all parties involved in the talk, but in the end, Papalymo left with a proposal - since she was still young, he asked of her that she kept to train herself in all the things she would deem useful until her coming of age, at which time she would have the opportunity to accept or reject his proposal to join the Scions of the Seventh Dawn.And that's exactly what she did. For years, she trained under the supervision of Hayk and Master E-Sumi-Yan, without a single word coming from the Scions, until the day where Papalymo came back - and quite not alone. For the first time of her short life, Tokki laid eyes on the face of L'asânkh Nahl, her half-brother, in the realm of reality. She couldn't believe it, so she looked at him from every angle, tugged at his ribs and took his hand to bite it. It was only when she felt the blood pouring into her mouth that she finally looked him right in the eyes - well, from below, but you get the hang of it.All these years, while she was playing the elementalist in training, the Scions had dressed a full picture of her story and got in touch with all the people involved in it. Naturally, most of them could easily do without meeting her, was it out of disdain or disinterest. But not L'asânkh. Back when he met Papalymo, the latter having invited himself into the Viper tribe to ask for an explanation and the full story behind the birth of the mixed Miqo'te, it was mainly out of curiosity that he accompanied him to Gridania, and because he couldn't understand why his normally loving father wanted nothing to do with his adulterous offspring.All in all, you could say that an instant bond formed between the two, even though his hand hurted a bit from the check. She was cute in his eyes, and most welcome as his only sibling, and while he was the indirect cause of such a big pain in the past, the fact that he left his tribe behind at such a young age just to meet her meant everything to her. Plus, at the surprise of everyone, L'asânkh bent the knee in front of Hayk and asked of him to be accepted in his tribe - in other words, to adopt him so that he would never be separated from his sister. It was genuinely unanticipated from him, however he instantly knew he had to stand by this young girl side and protect her even at the risk of his own life.There, in the middle of nowhere, a family was born. L'asânkh Nahl left every part of himself behind and became Ryung Ashkhaen, who swears on his life that he would train with all his might so that Tokki could finally lean safely on the shoulder of someone of her own blood.That boy, who had all when he left the Viper tribe, became the everything of the redhead and, one year later, both of them also left Gridania behind, saying goodbye but definitely not farewell to their father and home.In a way, their lives began at that precise moment in time, when she was only twenty-one and he fifteen, and they became members of the Scions of the Seventh Dawn
